The host of the top-rated “Santita Jackson Show” on Chicago’s WVON-AM, the nation’s leading urban talk radio station, she tackles topics of political, social, cultural and religious import five days a week. She is also the Executive Producer, Writer and co-host of the nationally-syndicated KEEP HOPE ALIVE with REV. JESSE JACKSON radio show. A writer, she is a founding contributor to theGrio, the MSNBC website dedicated to African American news and opinion. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and reared in Chicago, Illinois, as a young child, Santita had a passion for academics and music. Recognizing her nascent talent, Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway gifted her with a Steinway piano at the tender age of eight. As a high school senior, Santita won the prestigious National Merit-Achievement Scholarship. Having tendered offers from Spelman College, Yale University and Harvard University, Santita accepted a full academic scholarship to Howard University in Washington, D.C.
