Amy Doar - Doar Professional Counseling

On this episode of Caddo Convos, Buddy Broyles hosts Amy Doar of Doar Professional Counseling.

Amy Doar, a seasoned therapist with over 15 years of experience and founder of Doar Professional Counseling, shared insights on her diverse counseling practice during the Caddo Convos podcast. Amy specializes in treating individuals aged 18 to 79, addressing challenges such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and LGBTQ+ issues. She also assists parents of young adults facing "failure to launch" due to undiagnosed conditions like ADHD or autism spectrum disorder. A passionate advocate for the military community, she works extensively with veterans, leveraging her understanding of military culture and expertise with Tricare insurance. Amy discussed the impact of telehealth—boosted by the pandemic—which allowed her to expand services statewide and maintain strong client connections. She also highlighted the therapeutic benefits of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in helping clients manage trauma. Relocating her practice to Caddo's Maple Shade location, she emphasized the convenience, aesthetics, and professional atmosphere that have resonated with her and her clients.
