Dismantling My Pride :: Emma Flaugher's Story [Episode 371]

Pride is often subtle, yet it quietly shapes what we love, pursue, and depend on. In today's episode, Emma Flaugher—who shared her story at our Charleston Live Gathering—speaks honestly about a lifelong struggle with pride and her deep desire for approval and applause. What began as faithful ministry leadership slowly became a place where the Lord exposed her craving for recognition and her tendency to find worth in the affirmation of others.

With humility, Emma shares how God, in His kindness, began to dismantle her self-reliance and redirect her heart. This is a story about conviction that leads to freedom—freedom from performing for people, freedom to embrace her limitations, and freedom to rest in God's approval alone. If you've ever wrestled with needing to be seen, valued, or applauded, Emma's story will gently point you back to the steady grace of a God who lovingly reshapes our hearts.

VERSE OF THE WEEK:

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK:

This week reflect on areas of pride in your life. What are you seeking when pride sneaks in? Affirmation? Value? Approval? intentionally shift your focus off yourself, acknowledge your limitations, and trust God.
