The True History of Traditional Reiki

Robyn and Colleen welcome back Rika Saruhashi, a dedicated Reiki Master, editor, and translator who has spent decades bridging the wisdom of Japan with the global Reiki community through her historical translations. In this profound conversation, Rika shares exclusive insights from her newly translated book, written by Hiroshi Doi Sensei, "Traditional Reiki: History and Essence of Dento Reiki of Mikao Usui," which explores the deep roots of traditional Dento Reiki and Gendai Reiki. Together, they uncover information about the Reiki symbols, the inner workings of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, and how the practice has evolved into the modern era. Listen in to discover how intellectual clarity and spiritual alignment can deepen your connection to the Reiki energy.

In This Episode, You Will Learn:

Explore the definition of Dento Reiki and its direct lineage connection to Japan.
Discover the historical context behind the Reiki symbols and how collective consciousness empowers them.
Understand the subtle distinction between capitalizing Reiki as a system versus referencing the lowercase energy itself.
Uncover the unique structure of early Reiki levels and the traditional role of a Shihan.
Learn about the collaborative journey of translating Emperor Meiji's poems and the Usui memorial stone.
