Episode 123 - Mingling With Mothman

When we covered Eden Crowe's Bowling With Bigfoot way back on episode 87, Maxx told a story of his youthful, small-town hijinks. Edwn was so tickled that she wrote an ENTIRE BOOK about the hilarious tale!

Okay...she briefly mentions it in Mingling With Mothman, her latest adorable slice-of-small-town-life tale in her Monsters of Mistwood series. It is still very cool, and the book is another Eden Crowe banger!

Book Description

There are a million reasons why Mayor Clay Carlile should never fall for his gorgeous and curvy new social media intern, but the biggest reason of all might just be her father. In nearly twenty years of political tenure, he’s been Clay’s only opponent, and his distaste for all of the monsters who call Mistwood, WV, home is more than well known. Not to mention, a scathing letter he sent to the tabloids trying to out Clay as the state’s most notorious cryptid has an uncomfortable amount of eyes focusing on this mothy mayoral candidate just in time for election season. But how is Clay supposed to resist a woman who shines so bright?

Ava Pratt is nothing like the man who raised her, and she’s lived her life abroad proving just that. Despite it all, she can’t help but believe there’s still some good left in her father and is determined to help him see reason. She hasn’t been back to Mistwood in two decades, but when a job posting from her hometown slides into her inbox, it seems like the perfect political strategy to take the temporary office position playing intern to her father’s biggest enemy, if only to help them both understand one another better. But the last thing Ava expects is to find herself falling for her new boss.

A work trip goes awry when a sudden snow storm leaves the pair stranded at a no-tell motel. This single-bed-situation seems prime for media scandal, but when Clay reveals more than just his true form, the two must face the forbidden nature of their budding romance and decide whether it’s best to stay hidden, waiting in the wings, or find a way to face the public - and Ava’s father. Can the pair sort through all the legends and lore to learn that seeing is believing? And will their love find a way to show others the light?
