Why Did Satan Rebel If He Knew He Couldn’t Win? | Sunday Seeds

Why would Satan rebel against God if he already knew he could never win? That question opens the very first episode of Sunday Seeds, a new weekly gathering on Broadcasting Seeds centered on Scripture, prayer, teaching, and truth. This week, Bennett examines one of the oldest questions in Scripture: What was the sin behind Satan’s fall? Was it rebellion? Ambition? A desire to be worshipped? Or was something deeper already happening before any of those things appeared? Through Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14, Luke 10, 1 Timothy 3, James 4, 1 Peter 5, Proverbs 16, and Philippians 2, we examine pride not simply as arrogance, but as the elevation of self — taking something God genuinely gave you and allowing it to become the center. Jesus gives an extraordinary warning in Luke 10 when the seventy return celebrating that demons are subject to them. He does not deny their authority. He redirects their joy: “Rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.” Why? Because there is a difference between celebrating what you can do and celebrating what God has done for you. And that difference may tell us far more about the fall of Satan than we realize. In this episode: • Why Satan could know God's power and still rebel • Ezekiel 28 and the “lifted up” heart • The five “I will” statements of Isaiah 14 • Jesus’ warning to the seventy in Luke 10 • Why 1 Timothy connects pride with “the condemnation of the devil” • The difference between humility and thinking poorly of yourself • Satan’s upward movement compared with Christ’s humility in Philippians 2 • Why knowledge, spiritual authority, and proximity to God are not protection against pride • The announcement of weekly Sunday Seeds prayer requests • The blessing of Numbers 6 Starting next Sunday, Sunday Seeds will also include prayer requests submitted by viewers and listeners. If you would like prayer for yourself, your family, a decision, a struggle, a spiritual battle, or anything you are carrying, leave your request in the comments or send it privately. Anonymous requests are welcome. And if a prayer is answered, come back and tell us. Sunday Seeds is here every Sunday.

Bring your Bible. Scripture. Prayer. Teaching. Truth.
