In this special episode of the BigOS Podcast, Piotr Wciślik and Magdalena Wnuk present a profile of OpenEdition, the core institution of the open science movement in France and internationally, as the national coordinator of the European OPERAS consortium.

Unlike the other two episodes that the SIROS team recorded in OpenEdition headquarters in Marseille, which were interviews with Simon Dumas Primbault and Pierre Mounier, this is a group portrait that features voices of six other members of the OpenEdition team: Karla Avanço, Marina Cortés Aldaz, Laurent Delval, Sandra Guigonis, François Pacaud, and Alessia Smaniotto.

It is a very diverse group both in terms of professional roles and length of service, which illustrates the complexity of OpenEdition as an organisation, and also represents multiple perspectives on open science in France.

In the episode, we discuss how and why they joined OpenEdition, what open science means to them, how an open science movement changes while transforming into an infrastructure, and what challenges to open science they perceive going forward.
