(6) The Dutch authorities are considering a major expansion of infrastructure in the Moerdijk area, potentially requiring the village's residents to leave and the village to be razed. The expansion is needed to accommodate the Netherlands' changing energy system, with the region's energy needs keeping rising and the demand for grid capacity growing faster than networks can be expanded.
