Ep. 322: 1800+ Miles Across Patagonia Solo on Horseback - Nancy Pfeiffer

Ep. 322: 1800+ Miles Across Patagonia Solo on Horseback - Nancy Pfeiffer

As a neophyte horsewoman with a minimal command of the Spanish language, Nancy rode off across Patagonia, alone, on horseback. Over the next decade and three thousand miles of rugged horse trail, Patagonia’s wild country and the hardy pioneers who settled there took her in and changed her. The book "Riding Into the Heart of Patagonia" is the story of that journey. It is also the story of Patagonia, a spectacular wilderness and rich, self-sufficient culture on the brink of rapid change. The book is available for pre-order at Amazon now and will deliver May 1, 2018. www.nancypfeiffer.com www.ridingintotheheartofpatagonia.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Riding-Into-the-Heart-of-Patagonia-1700774059962723/ Pre-order the book: https://www.amazon.com/Riding-Heart-Patagonia-Nancy-Pfeiffer/dp/1945805676/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1506909691&sr=8-3-fkmr1&keywords=riding+in+the+heart+of+patagonia     Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/adventure-sports-podcast/donations Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

Ep. 318: South America Bike Tour - Anna McNuff & Faye Shepherd - Part 2

Ep. 318: South America Bike Tour - Anna McNuff & Faye Shepherd - Part 2

In October 2016 Anna McNuff saddled up on a bike called Bernard and set off as part of a two-woman team on a mission to explore some of the most beautiful and remote areas of the Southern Andes. Side by side, she and her friend Faye Shepherd spent 184 days pedaling their way 5,500 miles through Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. From the bustling city of La Paz, all the way down to Ushuaia – the last sizeable chunk of land before you reach Antarctica. Far from taking the shortest, most direct route, they sought the most mountainous course possible. By the time they returned to the UK in spring 2017 they had ascended over 100,000 metres  – equivalent to 11 times the height of Everest – on their bicycles. www.annamcnuff.com New Zealand Book: "The Pants of Perspective" Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/adventure-sports-podcast/donations Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brands Privacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
