Sadly, amphibians are one of the most endangered class of animals on the planet. It is estimated up to 41% of all amphibian species are threatened with extinction. Bathsheba Demuth is an Assistant Professor of History and Environment and Society at Brown University, where she specializes in the US and Russian Arctic. The Japanese Macaque, or also known as "Snow Monkeys" are one of the world's most beloved monkeys. What makes them so iconic is the behavior of these monkeys soaking in the hot springs of Joshinetsu Kogen National Park. Covering these macaques also allows us to explore the biodiversity of Japan and all the animals inhabiting their islands.
