Episode 161: Self Actualization Through Astrology, Myth, and the Decans With Spencer Michaud

Spencer Michaud is a professional astrologer with an interdisciplinary approach, incorporating both modern and traditional chart-reading techniques, as well as other divinatory methods such as tarot, the I-Ching, and archetypal storytelling. Spencer has over fifteen years' experience studying ancient wisdom traditions and symbolic languages and is a certified graduate of Acyuta-Bhava Dasa's Nightlight Hellenistic Astrology Courses. In addition to his studies with Acyuta, Michaud is inspired by the traditional work pioneered by Robert Schmidt, Demetra George, Austin Coppock, and Chris Brennan as well as modern mythological based practitioners such as Bernadette Brady and Liz Greene. In This Episode:

Spencer shares his origins story from his upbringing in Michigan to finding Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey and how he was led to astrology.
What led him to leave music and commit to astrology.
How he decided to leave music versus sticking to it.
As a cishet White man, his experience in working with his feminine energy and being open to astrology.
How Spencer learned about tarot and the other forms of divination that he practices.
Spencer goes through an example, using my chart, on how he infuses astrology, decans, tarot, and Sephirot.
His beliefs around fate versus destiny based on his studies on ancient wisdom.
How understanding astrology and our natal chart can help us understand ourselves.
His observations on Americans versus his audience from all over the world.
Spencer shares his experience in raising his Capricorn daughter, debt, and knowing yourself.
