Navigating BIM and Architectural Innovations with Pierre Venter

BIM is not just software. Done properly, it helps coordinate people, information and design decisions before problems become expensive.

Stephen Drew speaks with Pierre Venter about BIM, Revit, moving from South Africa to the UK, digital collaboration, project management, visualisation, VR, Oculus Quest, AI, contractors, team dynamics and the future of architectural technology.

The conversation covers:

How BIM evolved from software knowledge into a wider working method
Why visualisation, VR and real-time feedback can support better design decisions
How project management and BIM coordination overlap
Why contractors and consultants need clearer digital collaboration
What candidates can show when applying for BIM and digital practice roles
