We at Across the Cline and SciComm@UCR, would like to respectfully acknowledge and recognize our responsibility to the original and current caretakers of the land, water, and air on which we record this podcast: the Cahuilla, Tongva, Luiseño, and Serrano peoples and all of their ancestors and descendants, past, present, and future. This place is home to many Indigenous peoples from all over the world, including our colleagues, guests, and community, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to live and work on these homelands. We’re closing out 2023 with a splash as we dive into the world of Black mermaids and environmental justice!
