As a young boy, Alex Staniforth dealt with epilepsy and a stammer as a result of it. Like many kids, he was picked on and bullied in school severely damaging his self confidence. Amazingly Alex managed to overcome his confidence issues when he discovered a new world of adventure and the feeling of accomplishment. At just 18 years old, he made his first attempt to summit Mt Everest.
