Ego | The What, The Why, And The How Of Managing It For Success.

Ego | The What, The Why, And The How Of Managing It For Success.

For a long time, the “ego” has received a bad rap. The words, “self centered,” “pompous,” and, “big-headed,” give the ego a negative connotation. But we often confused ego with narcissism, which is the excessive interest in one’s self and abilities and undervaluing the contributions of others. Having an ego, a healthy development of self-esteem is a vital quality to produce at the level you are capable of. The main difference being that you can be incredible, and know and be open about it, but the instant you put others down rather than lift them up you become narcissistic. On the other hand having a healthy ego will also allow you to see where you are lacking and where you need to grow. Listen and learn how to use your ego to propel yourself into new heights. E87 Details Matter

E87 Details Matter

Today I let details dictated my ability to be successful. A conflict with a gym over recording video and photography results in a huge shift in my day’s schedule. But it’s not their fault, I should have had the forethought to get clearance before bringing a media crew to a corporate gym. More often than not we are quick to point the finger outward. But in reality we should be pointing at ourselves as we overlook the details. Questions, comments, requests? Feel free to contact me at ryan@gsdmediagroup.com. I’d love to hear from you.

E86 Heavy Days

E86 Heavy Days

My best friend Myles passed away in March 2018 from what everyone thought was a heroine overdose. An autopsy report recently told us otherwise. The frame I’ve been viewing this reality through is false, and I feel a tremendous amount of guilt for so many reasons. The weight of the day heavy. But you, the listeners, have helped me lift that weight. Thank you. Questions, comments, requests? Feel free to contact me at ryan@gsdmediagroup.com. I’d love to hear from you.

E85 Book Review - Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza

One of my top three books of all time. Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza is an amazing dive into metaphysics, meditation, transcending time and space, and so much more. In this episode I share how this book can alter your mind and vastly change your connection with the world for the better. It’s full of actionable items and implementation, not just theory. I cannot recommend it enough! Questions, comments, requests? Feel free to contact me at ryan@gsdmediagroup.com. I’d love to hear from you.

E84 Put Me In Coach

E84 Put Me In Coach

I have a boxing coach, nutrition coach, even a podcast coach! Having a coach can help you reach your goals, whatever they may be, much faster than if you go it alone. I’ll even go as fast to say using a coach is the best way to get to where you want to be. Learn from experts who have mastered their craft both from experience and learning from the masters who coached them. Once you grow to the point that you truly no longer need them, then the student becomes the teacher. Questions, comments, requests? Feel free to contact me at ryan@gsdmediagroup.com. I’d love to hear from you.

E83 Meltdown in the Desert

E83 Meltdown in the Desert

I was fortunate enough to speak at an event in Arizona this past weekend called Meltdown in the Desert. Public speaking has never been difficult for me, but this was a huge deal for me as it’s the next step for me in my goal to impact the world. After overcoming several setbacks and frustrations, I was able to jump on stage and wow the crowd, some of the audience was even in tears. And what did I talk about? Authentic vulnerability. Listen as I recap the weekend, and walk you through a technique to help you change negative emotions to positive emotions, and ultimately give yourself power in every situation.   Questions, comments, requests? Feel free to contact me at ryan@gsdmediagroup.com. I’d love to hear from you.

E82 Ryan and Lindsay - Expectations vs Reality

E82 Ryan and Lindsay - Expectations vs Reality

Any time you have some sort of expectations, you are almost setting yourself up for failure. You may not get what you want, or your expectations and hopes may change. Being upfront, open, and honest about your expectations can prevent you from getting too deep into situations and relationships in which the reality is nothing like what you were expecting. E81 How To Deal With Mean People - Listener Request

E81 How To Deal With Mean People - Listener Request

It’s pretty easy for me to talk about this one, I used to be that jerk. There’s always one of them. They always have some way to put you down and ruin your day. And most of the time they enjoy doing it. And most of the time they are either threatened or have some kind of insecurity deep within. It may seem like conflict is the issue here, but conflict is actually the answer. Confront them, ask them why, and be the aggressor. When a bully is backed into a corner and faced with the truth, they lose their power. And power is usually what they were after in the first place.   Questions, comments, requests? Feel free to contact me at ryan@gsdmediagroup.com. I’d love to hear from you.

E80 Domestic Violence - Listener Request

E80 Domestic Violence - Listener Request

First and foremost, domestic violence is never acceptable. Physical, verbal, emotional, or any other kind of abuse is not okay. A female listener reached out asking for me to speak about this topic. Domestic violence is the lowest form of being a man, or even a human. I don’t care what the reasoning is, what the situation is, or even how sketchy your dark past may be. Domestic violence is NEVER acceptable. Men, you are better than this. You should never raise your hand or voice to a woman in an abusive manner. Confront the underlying issue before even coming close to this, whether it be your communication issues or even your own inner demons.   Questions, comments, requests? Feel free to contact me at ryan@gsdmediagroup.com. I’d love to hear from you.
