Prophet Series Episode 03 Ezekiel

Ezekiel – The Valley ofDry Bones

Key Verse: Ezekiel 37:5 – "This is whatthe Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and youwill come to life."

Welcome to The ProphetSeries! In our last episode, we reflected on Jeremiah's life and hisfaithfulness in suffering. Today, we journey into the remarkable story ofEzekiel, a prophet known for his powerful visions and symbolic acts.

Ezekiel's ministryoccurred during one of the darkest periods in Israel's history—the Babylonianexile. The people of Judah had lost everything: their land, their temple, andtheir sense of identity. They felt like a valley of dry bones, lifeless and withouthope.

But God delivered amessage of restoration through Ezekiel. His vision of the valley of dry bonesis one of the most vivid and hope-filled passages in Scripture. It reminds usthat no situation is beyond God's power to revive.

Let's dive intoEzekiel's life and discover how his message speaks to us today.

Ezekiel was a priestfrom a prominent family in Jerusalem, but his life took a dramatic turn when hewas among the first exiles taken to Babylon in 597 B.C. Five years into hisexile, at the age of 30, Ezekiel received his prophetic call.

His calling wasextraordinary. In Ezekiel 1, he describes an awe-inspiring vision of God'sglory: a whirlwind, living creatures with four faces, wheels within wheels, anda radiant throne. Overwhelmed, Ezekiel fell facedown, and God spoke to him, commissioning him to be a prophet to the exiles.

God warned Ezekiel thathis task would be challenging. The people were rebellious and hard-hearted, butGod told him to deliver the message faithfully, whether they listened or not.Ezekiel's obedience was absolute, even when it required unusual symbolicactions, like lying on his side for 430 days to represent the years of Israeland Judah's sin or shaving his head to signify the coming judgment.

Episode 07 Psalm 121: Climbing Life’s Hills with the Creator

Episode 07 Psalm 121: Climbing Life’s Hills with the Creator

Hey friends, Welcome to our podcast ‘2 Minutes with the Lord.’ I am your host Fr. Dominic Veigas SVD I want to ask you a question today.   Have you ever stood at the base of a hill or a mountain, looking up, feeling the weight of the climb ahead?   Life often feels like that—steep, overwhelming, and uncertain.   Today, we’re stepping into Psalm 121, a song for the journey, a promise that no matter how daunting the climb, we have help.   This isn’t just any help—it’s the help of the One who made the hills, the valleys, and the earth beneath our feet. So, let’s start climbing together.   Close your eyes for a moment and imagine this:   You’re standing at the base of a long, winding trail. The sun is warm on your face, but the path ahead looks steep and endless. Your heart feels heavy—not just from the climb but from your burdens. You lift your eyes to the hills and whisper, ‘Where will my help come from?’   And then, as if carried on the breeze, you hear a voice saying this to you: I lift up my eyes to the hills— from where does your help come? Your help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.’

Episode 06 Psalm 34: A Song of Gratitude in Every Season

Episode 06 Psalm 34: A Song of Gratitude in Every Season

Welcome back to ‘2 Minutes with the Lord.’ I am your host Fr. Dominic Veigas SVD. Today, we’re exploring Psalm 34, which calls us to bless the Lord in good times and at all times. Gratitude is easy when life is smooth, but what about when it’s not? This Psalm challenges us to live with a heart of constant thanksgiving, rooted in trust that God is always at work, even in the challenging moments. Let’s discover how we can carry a song of gratitude through every season of life.” Let’s hear the opening verses of Psalm 34, imagining these words as a personal anthem of praise. ‘I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!’ Psalm 34 begins with a bold statement: ‘I will bless the Lord at all times.’ Not just when life is good or when we feel like praising, but in every season—joyful or challenging, peaceful or chaotic. This kind of gratitude doesn’t come naturally; focusing on God’s goodness is a choice, even when life feels heavy.

Episode 05 Psalm 139: Walking with the One Who Knows You

Episode 05 Psalm 139: Walking with the One Who Knows You

Episode 5 Psalm 139: Walking with the One Who Knows You   “Welcome back to ‘2 Minutes with the Lord.’ I am your host, Fr. Dominic Veigas SVD, and today, we’re taking a very different approach to Psalm 139.   Psalm 139, traditionally attributed to David, is a meditation on God’s intimate knowledge of, and presence with, each individual.   It reveals a God who knows the Psalmist completely and is present in every moment of life.   In the Historical Context: In Israelite thought, God’s omniscience and omnipresence were central beliefs.   This Psalm reflects the understanding that God is actively involved in His creation and attentive to each person’s life.   The themes of divine knowledge and intimacy are central. The Psalmist marvels at God’s knowledge of him, from his movements to his thoughts and even his formation in the womb.   The Psalm is deeply personal, expressing awe at the closeness of God’s presence.     Instead of just reading and reflecting, I invite you to join me on an imaginative journey—a walk with God where you’ll experience what it’s like to be fully known and loved.   Let’s step into this Psalm together and discover what it means to be seen by the One who understands every part of us.”   “Picture this: You’re in a quiet, peaceful place—maybe a path in a forest, a quiet shoreline, or somewhere that feels like home. You’re not alone; God is walking with you, at your side, completely present.   As you walk, you feel this deep, calming presence, and you know that God is here not as a distant observer but as someone who understands every thought and every feeling.   He speaks, and His words feel like they’re filling every part of you:   ‘I’ve searched you, and I know you.   I know when you sit and when you rise.   Before you even speak, I understand your thoughts.   Wherever you go, I am there.’   As you hear these words, imagine each part sinking in. You don’t have to explain yourself, put on a brave face, or pretend to be anything you’re not. You are fully known, right here, right now.”   “How does it feel to be indeed known in this way?   To not have to hold back or hide?    In this journey, there’s no judgment, no shame—just a safe space to be exactly who you are. God knows the parts of us that we’re proud of and wish we could change, and still, He’s walking right beside us.   Psalm 139 says, ‘Where can I go from Your Spirit?   Where can I flee from Your presence?’   The answer is simple—nowhere. God’s love is like a gentle, constant presence that fills even our darkest corners.   Imagine how it would feel if, every day, you could walk with this kind of understanding, knowing that you’re accepted exactly as you are.”     “Let’s make this personal. This week, find a quiet place where you can imagine yourself taking this walk with God.   Maybe it’s in a park, by a lake, or even in your living room. Spend five minutes just sitting with the idea that God knows you—every detail.    Bring your worries, your hopes, and even your doubts. Let God’s presence remind you that you’re completely seen and loved.   If you’d like, write down anything that comes up during this time. It could be a word, a feeling, or even a question you want to ask God.   Keep it somewhere you can see, as a reminder that you’re never alone on this journey.”   I want to narrate my own experience of closeness with the Lord. God knew what I was and who I was. He was there before me in my life’s journey.   He knew my every move. The Lord loved me as I was, and I just surrendered my life to him, and he took care of me. Through this deep experience, I feel so close to Him. “Let’s pray together. God, thank You for walking with us, for knowing us in ways we don’t even know ourselves. Help us to rest in the truth that we are fully seen and loved, even when we don’t understand everything. Let this knowledge free us to live with courage and peace. Guide us as we walk with You each day, knowing that wherever we go, You are there. Amen.

Episode 04 Psalm 51 : A Prayer for a New Beginning

Episode 04 Psalm 51 : A Prayer for a New Beginning

Psalm 51: A Prayer for a New Beginning “Welcome back to season 5 of  ‘2 Minutes with the Lord.’ Today, we’re diving into the fourth episode, a deeply personal and raw Psalm that speaks of repentance, renewal, and hope for a fresh start. I am your host, Fr. Dominic Veigas SVD, and today we delve into Psalm 51 Psalm 51 is David’s heartfelt prayer of repentance after the prophet Nathan confronted him regarding his sins of adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband, Uriah. It’s a powerful example of confession, repentance, and a plea for restoration. This Psalm reflects David’s contrition after realizing the gravity of his sins. In ancient Israel, sin was understood as a breach in the relationship with God and the community, and repentance was seen as a path to restore that relationship.   The key themes are repentance and renewal. David acknowledges his sin, appeals to God’s mercy, and asks for a clean heart. There’s a deep desire for transformation, not just forgiveness, as David asks for a renewed spirit.
