Your Guide to December 2024 in Nashville

The hustle and bustle of the holidays are upon us, and we’ve got our picks for the best places to visit, shop, eat, and celebrate this month. Host Marie Cecile Anderson is joined by newsletter editor Margaret Kingsbury and executive producer Whitney Pastorek for a whirlwind tour through activities for Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year’s; must-see concerts and holiday light spectaculars; our favorite local gift ideas; and an insider’s tip at how to beat one of the most exorbitant parking fees in town. If you’re looking for even MORE options, we’ve covered some great activities and important news stories across the city in recent episodes: First of all, it’s currently Nashville Scene Taco Week, and we’ve got your guide to the best items on the menu. We’re excited about the 100th Annual Waffle Shop at The Downtown Presbyterian Church this Thursday, and these awesome kid-friendly restaurants. We’ve been keeping up on the news about Metro’s proposed contract with controversial surveillance tech company FUSUS and what y’all need to do to prepare for winter. And did you know we talked to an astronaut who’s stuck in space? City Cast Nashville brings you a new episode every weekday morning with the day's can't-miss conversation about life in Music City. We’re covering the news and culture of our endlessly growing city from every perspective we can find — including yours. It’s like a backyard barbecue and the whole town’s invited, so whether you’ve lived here for a blink or a lifetime, we hope you’ll pull up a lawn chair and sit a while.
