Millwall 0-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Millwall 0-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. What is it about this Forest team and late goals?! This time it was a 91st minute winner from Lewis Grabban that secured a dramatic victory for Steve Cooper's side at The New Den, after a see-saw second half which saw chances galore for Forest, as well as several opportunities for the hosts, who were twice denied brilliantly by Brice Samba in the Forest net. Grabban replaced Philip Zinckernagel in the starting XI, playing just behind Keinan Davis, but it was Forest who struggled to get much going in the first half, only coming into proceedings just before the break. The Reds were much-improved in the second, with some fluent passing from Ryan Yates and James Garner, the guile of Grabban and Davis and the lively Brennan Johnson causing Millwall all kinds of problems. The game saw plenty of chances come and go for both sides, with Forest in particular forcing good saves out of Bartosz Bialkowski in the Lions goal and seeing efforts cleared off the line, before Grabban stepped up with minutes remaining to send the travelling Forest fans wild. Steven is joined by Tom Newton to discuss a match where Forest's staying power once again came to the fore. They talk about the importance of Lewis Grabban to the side, how the Reds approached the game in the right manner as well as the belief and determination that the team continues to show under Cooper. Nottingham Forest 2-3 Newcastle United: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

Nottingham Forest 2-3 Newcastle United: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

Annoyingly, frustratingly and disappointingly, Forest's poor home form continues, as despite fighting back twice, poor defending cost them three goals and Newcastle took all three points. The big talking point was the penalty shout when Martin Dubravka clearly made contact with Taiwo Awoniyi in the area, but the ref didn't give anything and VAR chose not to ask him to have a look. George Edwards was joined by Baz to discuss the Reds' porous backline and the performance levels; we also hear from Jack from the Toon Under Podcast with the Geordie view. We'll be back at the end of the week with our Friday 5 - thanks for listening. Bournemouth 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

A great goal by Callum Hudson-Odoi was the only real moment of quality in a scrappy game that was epitomised by Phillip Billing's red card for a nasty challenge on the Reds winger. Forest had conceded an early goal in a slow start, and after the late sending off, will feel that they should have got more from the game. Steven Toplis is joined by Adam after a long journey back from the south coast; we also hear from Bournemouth fan Jon Spark from the Cherries Red Army podcast. Nottingham Forest 1-2 Arsenal: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

Nottingham Forest 1-2 Arsenal: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

A defeat that wasn't that surprising on paper, but was disappointing in practice as mistakes at the back (yes, including another one from Matt Turner) cost the Reds two goals. A glimmer of hope came with the return of Taiwo Awoniyi and Antony Elanga, but the former's late goal proved to be nothing more than a consolation. Baz is joined by Tom Newton for a discussion of the match - key topics include pitchforks, military surveillance equipment and "poppadom wrists". We also get a view from the opposition, from Arsenal fan Chris Harwood, who seems to be more fond of Matt Turner than most Forest fans right now. Bristol City 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 FA Cup Match Report

Bristol City 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 FA Cup Match Report

It wasn't exactly the most exciting game, but at least Forest kept their first clean sheet since Nuno Espirito Santo took charge. In reality, there wasn't really much for either keeper to do, with both Danilo and Callum Hudson-Odoi hitting the side netting, and Cameron Pring doing likewise for the hosts. It's back to the City Ground in ten days or so for a replay. Match report presented by Steven Toplis with George Edwards. Brentford 3-2 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

It was defeat for Forest on Ivan Toney Day, as Ivan Toney's Brentford came back from an early deficit to win the game, with returning hero Ivan Toney unprecedently getting Sky Sports' Player of the Match award before the game even started. In reality, Forest will be kicking themselves about two of the goals conceded, and it would be nice to have a game where we weren't talking about our goalkeeper. Steven Toplis is joined by Tom Newton to discuss a controversial moment and whether Forest should have got more from the game.
