Episode 94: Christmas Tree Jane Doe

The week before the Christmas of 1996, a mysterious unidentified female body was found next to a miniature Christmas tree in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Although the body had no identification, letters expressing the Jane Doe's request *NOT* to have an autopsy were found in her pockets. Money for cremation was included in the letters. Even more odd, the corpse was extremely well dressed and evidence shows she took her own life while listening to comedy tapes. Was this a set up? Who was this woman? Was someone leaving clues for investigators or is it all just a coincidence? Listen to Nat and Aly try and figure it all out on this week's episode! *SOURCES* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4h_6aRAxcwU&list=PLt4ZkJ3lYmFWfjSK9dMl2HRSrIrFMFu4i https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yifHAHc9ns https://unidentified.wikia.org/wiki/Christmas_Tree_Lady https://www.reddit.com/r/gratefuldoe/comments/kh3ljx/annandale_jane_doe_aka_christmas_tree_lady/ https://listverse.com/2014/12/22/10-unsolved-christmastime-mysteries/ An article from dec 5 2000 for washington post https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/local/2000/12/05/unsettling-tales-of-the-unknown-dead/25553f3d-208b-43e5-84a1-176b304996aa/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOTKDgrdvdg https://truecrimesocietyblog.com/2021/06/12/the-sad-case-of-annandale-jane-doe/ https://www.crimetheoriespodcast.com/christmas-jane-doe/ https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/washingtonpost/name/deborah-ballard-obituary?id=5447565 https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/123308446/brandi-rae-ballard http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/245ufva.html charleyproject.org/case/Evelyn-louise-piper Learn more about your ad choices.
