#341 Men and Women Are Not the Same (and That’s Good!) with Denny Burk

What does Scripture really say about being male and female, and how did the “Nashville Statement” become a line in the sand? Today I’m joined by Dr. Denny Burk (Boyce College/SBTS; President of CBMW; author of What Is the Meaning of Sex?) for a clear and candid conversation on complementarianism, feminism, the church’s drift on sex and gender, and why Scripture is our standard. We trace how reactions to the Nashville Statement helped catalyze Side B/Revoice, talk through what the Bible means by manhood and womanhood (and why that’s good news), and offer hope to parents with deconstructed kids.

In this episode

Complementarianism vs. egalitarianism...why it matters for the home and the church

The Nashville Statement: what it is, why it exploded, and what came next

“Side B,” identity labels, and building your identity on Christ rather than fallen desires

How progressive readings reinterpret Scripture—and how to respond

The beauty of sexual difference and the goodness of God’s design

Real encouragement and testimonies for parents of prodigals/deconstructed kids
