Oda has donated her consciousness to science, and scientists around the world are taking part in a race to bring her memories and thoughts back to life. Her body is gone, but everything else that Oda was still exists, stored as data.

Actually, Remi has a copy himself, in a small container in the fridge. In secret, he begins his own efforts to bring the woman he loves back to life. It will be a project that balances perilously between art, science and madness.

One day, when he has almost given up, he receives a text message with a desperate cry for help. He already has the number stored in his contact list. The message is from Oda.

For science, consciousness is still an enigma. What does it really consist of? Is there such a thing as a soul? And can the human essence really be captured and recreated?
