On January 8th 2011, an assassination attempt was made on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson, Arizona. This cold-blooded killing spree lasted just 17 seconds but would claim the lives of 6 and seriously injured 13. It was committed by a 22 -year old local resident. Loughner had no history of violence or psychological problems in his early childhood. It wasn't until his later teenage years that he began to retreat from his friends. He entered in to a subversive online world of conspiracy theories, fuelling his sense of paranoia and misgivings about society. Loughner later attended a political Q and A session with Congresswoman Giffords. This experience ignited a vengeful obsession that would eventually climax in a bloody rampage.
