I talk with one of my favorite people, Irina! She is a linguist with an M.A. degree from San Francisco State University and is currently a PhD student in Scotland.

Irina is interested in studying voice quality and intonation scientifically to understand the physical aspects involved in accents.

In this talk, we explore the connection between syllable stress, word stress, and intonation patterns in different languages, particularly between Russian and English.

It's important to understand these patterns in your mother tongue and to compare them to your target accent.

Irina runs a school for Russian-speaking individuals and offers courses on articulation and clear speech, aiming to improve communication and understanding in English.
