The World Cup of Pundits (Groups A–D)

The World Cup of Pundits gets underway with Groups A–D, as some of football's biggest broadcasters battle it out for a place in the knockout stages.

From Lee Dixon, Alan Shearer, Joe Cole and Gary Neville to Gary Lineker, Jamie Carragher, Karen Carney, Roy Keane, Chris Kamara, Emma Hayes and many more, this opening round is packed with some of the biggest names ever to analyse the beautiful game.

Some are tactical masterminds. Some are natural entertainers. Some divide opinion every weekend. And some have become just as famous for what they say in the studio as what they achieved on the pitch.

As always, the judging criteria is deliberately loose. Insight, entertainment, chemistry, charisma, iconic moments and pure watchability all come into play as we decide who deserves to progress.

The tournament starts here... and the debates only get more heated from this point on.
