Adam Baumlein is the kind of mortgage professional who leads with heart. Born and raised in small-town Northwest Ohio, Adam’s journey into the mortgage world started almost by accident after transferring to Ohio State in 2004. But once he found lending, he never looked back. Now with over 20 years of experience—spanning big banks, brokerage firms, and now as co-owner of Stratton Mortgage—Adam has seen the highs and lows of the housing industry and stayed committed through it all.

What really lit a fire in him, though, was something personal: seeing his own brother—an active-duty service member—get taken advantage of during a cross-country PCS move. That moment changed everything. Adam dove deep into the VA loan program, determined to make sure no veteran or military family had to go through that kind of experience again. Since then, helping veterans has become more than just part of his job—it’s his mission.

Adam is an early and active member of Vetted VA, a community of vetted mortgage and real estate professionals who are passionate about getting it right for military families. He’s known for always picking up the phone, whether it’s a fellow lender with a tough VA question or a veteran from across the country just looking for honest advice. He believes in educating first—no pressure, just real help.

Still proudly based in Columbus, Adam works closely with buyers all across Ohio (and beyond) and leads with the values that matter most: transparency, compassion, and doing the right thing—even when no one’s watching.

Outside of work, you’ll find him cheering for Ohio State, spending time with family, and continuing to advocate for better homebuying experiences for those who’ve served.
