Episode 123: The Underground Round Up

This week, we’re heading underground with Episode 123, "The Underground Roundup", an episode where Team Ash deals with explosive living landmines, an unsung Diglett rancher, and the terrifying realization that you should never let Misty answer your phone!

En route to Pallet Town for a victory feast of Mrs. Ketchum’s legendary "deep-dish chili dog and pizza pot pie," Ash and the gang find their ferry port completely deserted. Hamlin Island has been completely overrun by short-tempered, ticking-time-bomb Electrode, leaving the local mayor desperate enough to hire anyone who can clear them out.

⚡ In This Episode:

• The Diglett Rancher: We meet Poncho, a poncho-wearing Clint Eastwood/Django clone tasked with the ultimate septic tank pumper job of the Pokémon world, herding angry, volatile Electrode into underground tunnels so they don't blow up the town.

• The Bridge Incident: Not-Brock ignores giant warning signs and nearly gets obliterated by an explosion, prompting Jeff to share real-world cautionary tales about flooded roads, abandoned Chevy Sparks, and camp counselor "poop shovels."

• Misty’s Phone Audacity: When Poncho's house phone rings, Misty takes it upon herself to answer a total stranger's private landline, only to find out the mayor's office is firing Poncho for working too slow.

• Team Rocket's Gas Guzzler: Team Rocket rolls into town piloting the smog-spewing "Electrode Eliminator" tank, complete with Meowth's smelly hair, James's single-take mid-motto cough, and a completely shockproof hull.

Waltz of the Dugtrio: Poncho breaks out the heavy artillery with a Dugtrio chanting in a 3/4 time signature, opening a massive sinkhole beneath Team Rocket before escorting the herd of Electrode to an open prairie where they can finally chill out.
