Sherlock Holmes, Senior Showcases & a Rocky Horror Raffle! What’s Next for Stage Left?

On this episode of Along the Rock, host Nathan Stahr welcomes Ben Lightner from Dixon Stage Left for a look at everything the theater company has coming up this fall and winter.

Dixon Stage Left is bringing The Hound of the Baskervilles to the Jerry Mathysse Theater at Sauk Valley Community College as a unique live radio theater experience. The production features two performers portraying every character while creating the sound effects live on stage.

The conversation also covers the return of Dixon Stage Left's Senior Showcase, featuring a variety of songs, skits, and performances at The Next Picture Show on October 4.

Looking ahead to December, Dixon Stage Left will present A Christmas Story at Sauk Valley Community College.

Ben also shares details about a special raffle featuring a signed Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack signed by Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Meat Loaf. The raffle is connected to an upcoming October 30 shadow cast performance presented by Mosaic Theater Troupe and the Dixon Historic Theatre.

Finally, Nathan and Ben discuss the ongoing work at Dixon Stage Left's future home, the progress being made on the building and plans for the theater company's 2027 season.
