Five years ago Luisa and Graeme Bell along with there kids Keelan and Jessica set out to explore the African continent via Overland vehicle. It didn't take but a few days back in the home in South Africa to realize that they needed to see more. Much more! So they put their existing lives aside, purchased a 2009 Land Rover Defender 130 and outfitted it for full-time living. The Bells then started to roam. Their travels have taken them around the African continent nearly twice and then up through South and Central America winding them through the United States and up to Alaska. We've caught up with them while they are house sitting in Baja Mexico. While thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail in 1996, Whitney LaRuffa found his new hiking companion, a wandering dog which he named Erwin after the town in Tennessee where they met. Erwin continued the AT hike the rest of the way through to Maine and went on to accompany Allgood for 13 years on many more hikes. Craig Dinkel's adventurous life began with a near-drowning at the very young age of just 2. But instead of this experience leaving him with a fear of water, Craig ultimately became an excellent swimmer competing for Cal State and qualifying for the Olympic trials. He’s an entrepreneur having grown a company from ground level into a half billion dollar market only to be wiped out by the dot com crash. Craig eventually found himself at the summit of 13,775 ft Grand Teton in Wyoming and ultimately catching the bug to attempt a through hike of the Continental Divide Trail and hopefully bag the triple crown thru-hiking the Continental Divide Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and the Appalachian Trail.
