Spoiler Discussion: The Mandalorian Chapter 21 "The Pirate"

On the March 29, 2023 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editorial director Peter Sciretta is joined by /Film editor Brad Oman and Star Wars expert Bryan Young get together for a spoiler-filled conversation about The Mandalorian Chapter 21, “The Pirate”FeedbackManuel: One thing that always bothered me with Star wars, movie and tv shows alike, planets seems to always be one city basically. In the case of nevarro, about 30 people. But fans never seem to be bothered by this?  Cade in Iowa and Aaron Leicestershire, UK had the same thought, im gonna read Aaron’s email:Big fan of the spoiler discussions. I listen to every one of them, much to my children's chagrin..  I just had a thought with regards to Grogu's escape from Coruscant. Bryan wrote up a great theory about Jar Jar Binks. I love this theory. … However, I did have another thought. A key part of Bryan's theory was that Jar Jar and Padme are the only 2 people that we've come across from Naboo with the means to help in this way and that were on Coruscant at the time. Padme was discounted for some very good reasons but.. there is another..  Could Sheev Palpatine, former Naboo senator, be behind this "escape"? It's feasible to me that most of the Jedi would not yet be aware of Palpatine's betrayal or that he was behind Order 66. It's conceivable then that Kelleran Beq might have reached out to him for help and, seeing an opportunity to ensnare this Jedi, Palpatine offers him a ship. Will we see in the next flash back we get that Beq has been betrayed by the person he thought was helping him?  This would also put Grogu in the Empire's hands very early on which would explain how, when we meet him in the first episode of The Mandalorian, the Empire are aware of his existence and are actively hunting him and how he is able to be tracked with a tracking fob. It would stand to reason that the Empire had possession of him before he was either stolen or escaped hence why they enlisted Din to get him back. Brief reactionsBradBryanPeterMid-Roll Sponsor break: “we’re going to take a quick break, and we’ll be right back”BreakdownBryan’s Review: The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 5 Goes Full PirateThe Mandalorian Talking Hammer Proves The Greatest Weapon Of All ...
