Staving Season

Staving Season

Jeff and Elliotte open this edition of 32 Thoughts by diving into Game 5 in Boston that saw the Toronto Maple Leafs stave off elimination with a 2-1 overtime win. Next up, the fellas take a look at Game 5 between the Canucks and Predators, where Nashville survived with a 2-1 win (8:34). The guys debate whether head coach Rick Tocchet should have challenged the Roman Josi goal for goaltender interference (13:45). Jeff and Elliotte turn their attention to the teams that couldn't stave, beginning with the Winnipeg Jets who crash out with a loss to the Colorado Avalanche (18:07). They also highlight the New York Islanders, who couldn't force Game 6 back home (26:26). Finally, they touch on the Tampa Bay Lighting bowing out to their in-state rivals in the Florida Panthers (31:25). The guys talk about whether Steven Stamkos' days might be done in Tampa (32:38). Jeff and Elliotte park the playoff talk for a moment to talk about coaching across the league. They touch on Mike Sullivan's status in Pittsburgh (38:56) and Dave Hakstol losing his job in Seattle (43:34).

The guys answer your questions in the Montana’s Thought Line (50:18).
