Today I welcome Alejandra Marquez, a Venezuelan transplant now living in North Carolina since 2010. Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 12, she's woven a life of curiosity, passion, sensitivity, resilience, and unabashed authenticity.

Married with a son on the autism spectrum, I discover joy in connecting with others, firmly believing in the power of unity – "TOGETHER WE DO MORE." As the Head of Brand Ambassador and Specialty PODS at DiabetesSisters, she is committed to fostering support and empowerment.

Courageously shares her journey with diabetes and motherhood, her aim is to motivate and inspire parents to navigate unexpected diagnoses like autism.

In this episode Alejandra shares her resilient journey as a Venezuelan woman living with diabetes in the US. From impactful summer camp experiences to finding a supportive DiabetesSister's Organization in Raleigh, we explore the transformative power of connections.
