Paying it Forward

Richard Morris and Carl Franklin talk to Lino Tadros, an old friend who suffers from type 2 diabetes and obesity, has tried every diet and procedure without success - even lap-band surgery, and started the ketogenic way of life in January, 2017. Carl flew across the country to cook for him and his family this week. Needless to say, it was yummy, and the whole family feels better after just a few days. This show is about paying your good fortune forward to help the next generation dodge the bullet of metabolic syndrome while it's still relatively easy to do. Errata: Richard mentioned that 50% of Egyptian women have diabetes, but the actual statistic is 50% of Egyptians have central obesity - which is a good sign that they are on the diabetic trajectory. Non-Scale Victories (rebroadcast)

Non-Scale Victories (rebroadcast)

Carl Franklin and Richard Morris ask the 2KD community to relate their NSVs (Non-Scale Victories) or all of the benefits of a ketogenic diet they've noticed other than weight loss. The results may surprise you. Errata Carl mentioned that a ketongenic diet is specifically good for Rheumatoid arthritis(RA), in fact of the two markers tested it only lowered one, but fasting was shown to lower both. So it may well be that fasting, which we know is easer if you are adapted to a ketogenic diet, is your best strategy to deal with RA.
