Susan Elderkin’s parents pointed her down her first trail, along Minnesota’s Lake Superior, at the age of three. By age 10 she outpaced her family on annual vacations to Grand Teton National Park. As an adult, she found she was spending all of her free time hiking and backpacking, so she quit her job in Washington, DC, packed her backpack and spent six weeks thru-hiking the Colorado Trail from Denver to Durango in 1995. In 2017, Todd Medeiros and girlfriend A.J. hiked the 270-mile Kungsleden Trail in Sweden using snowshoes, crampons and sleds. The Kungsleden or "King's Trail" runs from Abisko to Hemavan in northern Sweden. Even though the trail is a hut trail, the pair decided to do it by camping outdoors. Todd also fills us in on an organization called Over the Edge Global who holds urban repelling events for fundraisers. In urban repelling, people repel from the rooftops of tall buildings. Nordic ski racer Andy Liebner grew up in Soldotna, Alaska learning to ski and play in the Alaskan outdoors. He now resides in Michigan and runs his own company United States Ski Poles manufacturing American made cross country ski poles employing 120 people. Andy spends some time with Curt teaching us about Nordic or Cross Country skiing as well as relates a few good stories from his favorite adventure sport.
