Literacy Low-Down

As part of the “On the Road Video Series,” LQ is capturing the positive impact and working environs of our direct literacy service members. Chris had the chance to sit down with the directors of Laurentian Literacy Centre, Marlene Dagenais and Western Quebec Literacy Centre, Michele Gagnon, for an epic conversation about the incredible successes and challenges literacy learners and tutors go through daily, to live a more engaged life. We were down South in Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville this week visiting South Shore Reading Council’s Mother Goose program. What is Mother Goose, you ask… it’s where 2 amazing tutors Chantelle Griffiths Grenier & Rachel Wagner and a gathering of parents and toddlers aged 0-3 share the joys of language through nursery rhymes, songs, stories and games! We interview Chantel & Rachel, capturing their energy and spirit of giving parents and grandparents the tools to inspire their children to grow their imaginations through literacy.
