SOCCER SATURDAY - INDY ELEVEN for 09/12/20

(00:00-02:43) – Greg Rakestraw is back with another Soccer Saturday to recap the Indy Eleven’s win against Sporting Kansas City II, reviews the rest of the schedule for the boys in blue prior to the playoffs, and examines the Group E standings.

(05:45-15:21) – Martin Rennie returns for his weekly time slot on the program to explain the process behind adding Jeremy Rafanello to the squad following his big outing on Wednesday, explain how Drew Conner made a huge impact on the victory even though he didn’t register a goal, and he shares his thoughts on getting Louisville City back in Lucas Oil in which his club is trying to beat them for the first time this season.

(18:21-28:08) – First time Indy Eleven player making his second appearance on the show in Jeremy Rafanello explains what it meant to him and his dad to score his first career goal on his father’s birthday, what he saw on the field in the moments leading up to the goal, and how often the family has traveled to Indy to come watch him play.

(31:09-45:51) – Indiana soccer legend and current North Central Men’s Varsity Soccer Coach in Jerry Little joins the show with Greg to elaborate on why right now was the right time to decide to retire from coaching soccer, how he got interested into coaching, and describes the soccer landscape around Indianapolis.

(48:53-58:44) – In the final segment of this week’s edition of Soccer Saturday with Greg Rakestraw, he is joined by former MLB pitcher in Joe Thatcher to elaborate on his athlete training service at Grand Park in Pro X Athlete, how much knowledge he has about soccer, and what team would come to mind from his playing days that was a rival that he struggled to beat.
