Soccer Saturday - INDY ELEVEN for 01/15/22

(0:00-6:37) Greg Rakestraw is back for another edition of Soccer Saturday on 93.5 and 107.5 the Fan. Greg opens the show by highlighting the important components of the Indy Eleven schedule in 2022 and the teams that the Eleven will play for the first time this year. He closes the first segment with a reminder about the big international competitions happening this season.

(9:38-19:51) As he does most Saturday mornings, Indy Eleven head coach Mark Lowry joins the program for the first time in the new year. Greg and Mark talk about the new personnel on the Eleven Roster, especially the young players on the roster. Mark touches on what Noah Powder will bring to the team as a left back as well as midfielder Raul Aguilera as well as what the next few weeks look like as more players get announced, training camp is on the horizon and the open tryout is right around the corner.

(22:52-36:04) Former Indy Eleven player and new Oakland Roots SC head coach Juan Guerra joins the show to chat about his new role as a HC in the USL. Greg asks Guerra what he learned here in Indianapolis that is preparing him for a leadership position like this and what kind of community he is feeling around Oakland already. Juan comments on Eleven head coach Mark Lowry's coaching style and what he expects to see from him as the new head coach of the Boys in Blue.
