Taking A Minute For Yourself

Hey WellHouse, Pastor Cullen here. Sorry I never got a story out yesterday. We are going through some changes and I just didnt have the time to get to it - I'm sorry! But this episode of A Closer Look was actually a good one to miss the story on because we look at all four of the gospel versions of this story about Jesus taking a minute for himself. Happy Listening!

Our Identity:

WellHouse Church is a church seeking to reimagine what the church is. Too many people have been hurt by a church in their past, because church has become something that it was never meant to be: an event or building that we attend.

At WellHouse, we believe that the people of God are the church and that the love of God should be experienced through the people of God. So, WellHouse has returned to a New Testament expression of our faith by meeting in homes and dedicating ourselves to: the teaching of the scriptures, the fellowship of the believers, the breaking of bread together, and praying together for one another. We are focused on being a genuine expression of Christian hospitality and service to our community and the people of our community.

At WellHouse we want to be a place where people can Be Real, Be Relational, and Be Restored. As our leadership was dreaming up this vision, we looked at Scripture and saw that the earliest expressions of the church met in homes and it was rare that all of the believers were together. Today, most churches have found themselves spending a large portion of their budget on buildings that they rarely use. Not WellHouse. We want to keep our overhead low so we can spend our money on the things that matter, being the hands and feet of Jesus. So, we meet in the homes of our members for the majority of our meetings. Once per month, we all come together at a rented facility to devote our selves together as the whole church for the purpose of worshipping God together.

Not Everyone Who Says

Not Everyone Who Says

What does it mean when Jesus says, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven?" What does it mean for someone to call Jesus Lord and not enter the kingdom of heave? How does one enter the kingdom of heaven? In this episode, Pastor Cullen and Clayton dive into this text and compare it to the things that happened at our nations capital building on January 6, 2021. Happy Listening! Matthew 7:21-23: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers.’Our Socials: WellHouse ChurchWebsite: mywellhouse.church Instagram: @mywellhouse.churchFacebook: @mywellhouse.churchYoutube: Wellhouse Church - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1LssDbm_kj5DfEqPI5NIBA/featuredPastor CullenInstagram: @PastorCullenFacebook: @Pastor CullenYoutube: @PastorCullen - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfUd_dvOxPurHMfaBUjF9jwClaytonInstagram: @jcware99Facebook: Clayton WareOur Identity: WellHouse Church is a church seeking to reimagine what the church is. The Jesus Who Understands

The Jesus Who Understands

Do you ever wonder if Jesus understands you? Identifies with you? Well, in this episode of A Closer Look Pastor Cullen and Clayton walk through Mark 1:1-15 and show that many of the things that Jesus did are for connection with us. He did them so that he could set an example but also to connect and identify with us in those moments of trial. His baptism and his temptation are both narratives of connection with us. To say it another way, those are for us, not for him! Happy Listening! More than a Yes.

More than a Yes.

Is it enough to just get the yes? Should we just be satisfied with the yes? Or, should we be seeking more than a yes? What does it mean for this roman official in Matthew 8 to ask for more than Jesus' yes? Pastor Cullen and Clayton help us process this along with our role of faith in the restoration of others.
