The way we frame situations shifts our experiences. For me the challenge this past week was taking my daughter Gianna to buy new clothes. Like most kids, she hates to shop. She’d rather be at home playing with her friends or playing video games. Clothes are like life, some things just don’t fit. Purpose can be elusive. Many times when we chase it, it becomes harder to find. Me personally, I felt trapped for years expecting purpose to just show up. I’ve come to learn that purpose has to be unearthed. It resides within each of us waiting to be found. Throw away the stories you’ve been told and start pursuing your purpose.

Today’s 15 minutes are about false idols. Why do people become idols? Practice, practice, practice. You can’t become a master without hard work, dedication, and practice. When we look at people who are experts are what they do, it’s easy to assume that talent is the sole reason for success. We see the talent on display, but we often don’t see the hard work required to bring that process to light. Today I talk about how I discern good from bad when it comes to idols and people to look up to.
