In this edition of 32 Thoughts, Kyle Bukauskas and Elliotte Friedman look back at a wild week of trades across the NHL. They begin with the Canucks' pair of trades that sent J.T. Miller to the Rangers in return for Filip Chytil and Marcus Pettersson from the Penguins. They also talk about the runway now for Elias Pettersson as the drama between him and Miller comes to an end (14:32). Kyle and Elliotte touch on when to expect the NHL's next best-on-best tournament following 4 Nations (16:24) and they also touch on Canadians booing the American national anthem this weekend (18:22). The fellas talk about the trade between the Sharks and Stars (20:40) before touching on the Calgary Flames' commitment to the current roster as they continue to fight for a playoff spot (27:00). Kyle and Elliotte delve into the salary cap projections how possible fallouts (36:37). They talk about the Oilers-Leafs game on Saturday night (44:25) and they touch on the new hottest team in the NHL the Detroit Red Wings (51:20). Elliotte mentions that teams are wary of the Florida Panthers (56:28) and provides an update on Brandon Saad (56:51). The Final Thought focuses on the Elliotte's theory around the Mikko Rantanen trade (1:03:16).
