Do Demons Physically Attack?

Most people know that I spent 23 minutes in hell. God gave me this life-changing vision in November 1998. There are others who have also had a glimpse of hell, who were on their deathbed, or who had a dream or vision from God. I'm not the only one. In this podcast episode, I share details of some of their stories that should terrify any person, and make them give thought to where they will spend eternity. I have shared many times about the shark attack I miraculously walked away from when I was just 17 years old. This event marked the culmination of a defiant season in my youth. I share this to  give people a glimpse of who I was in my younger days because I believe there are some lessons that can be learned from my disobedience. First, there are consequences for our decisions. Some decisions are harmful and cannot be changed (apart from God’s intervention), or could even lead to a premature death. When we are young, it’s easy to be deceived and think we are invincible. God gave me a vision of hell. When I was traveling back from hell, I had no fear whatsoever. I felt an overwhelming sense of love, peace and safety in the presence of Jesus.  During this vision, I was outside my physical body and in my spirit body. As we returned home, I viewed my body lying on the floor. Jesus then placed me back in my physical body. The moment I entered it, the memories of hell flooded my mind with absolute terror. I started screaming, lying there on the living room floor in a traumatized state. Hell is far worse than any horror you could experience or imagine on earth. Do you realize that a single thought planted in your brain can develop into a wrong belief and change the course of your life? For instance, research shows that most young people who identify as Christian and attend a secular university, abandon their faith upon graduation. We must be diligent to guard what we hear and who we hear it from, and discern what thoughts to reject and cast down. If we don’t, the thought can enter our heart. Remember, deception is very subtle. If it opposes biblical truth, and we accept it, we will drift away from God. Some people believe that if God loves them, that's enough to secure their way to heaven. If someone deeply loves you, does that mean they can override your free will? Can they force you to love them back? A parent may deeply love their adult child, but that child can still choose to rob a bank and end up in jail. The parent loves them, but the child’s actions determined their future. The parents never desired this outcome, nor could they stop their foolish decision. The parent’s great love can’t stop the wheels of justice from sending their child to jail just as God cannot force a person into loving and obeying Him. Have you ever thought about why some Christians seem to be more fruitful or spiritually productive while others are not? There are many reasons, but we will focus on one – a lack of knowledge and understanding of God’s word. This ties to a lack of respect or value placed on God’s word. In Mark 4 and Matthew 13, Jesus clearly explains this most important parable to understand. He describes how God’s word is the seed. The soil is a person’s heart. The condition of the soil, or the condition of a person’s heart, determines the result. We need to realize (as the devil does) that the more strength, health, and provision we have, the more people we can reach with God’s truth. After all, you can’t feed the poor if you can’t even pay your own bills. You can’t travel to preach the Gospel if you are sick. And we can’t hear God’s voice if we live in a state of stress and unrest. These benefits only come from time spent in God’s word. The most terrifying moment a human being could experience is to be found guilty before the Lord Jesus Christ, the Supreme Judge at the great White Throne Judgment, and then be cast into hell. Jesus makes it clear in the Bible that it is not just people who commit the act of murder who are in danger of judgment, but also those who have a murderous intent in the heart. This heart attitude begins with anger. The three forms of anger first come from a person’s emotions, then progresses to the mind, and then finally it enters his heart. We all need to control our anger. Believers have the power of the Holy Spirit to do this but it’s our choice whether we yield to Him or not. If we allow anger to go unchecked, it will only grow and evolve and eventually open the door to a demonic spirit, putting us in great danger.
