Nottingham Forest 3-0 Barnsley: The 1865 Match Report

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Forest continued their winning ways by seeing off bottom side Barnsley in front of a bumper Tuesday evening crowd of 27,000 at The City Ground. After a quiet opening, Forest took the lead on 15 minutes when Keinan Davis dispossed Mads Andersen, before striding through and slotting the ball into the corner for his first goal in a Reds shirt since joining on loan from Aston Villa. Steve Cooper's side doubled their lead seven minutes before the break as Ryan Yates finished off a flowing move, which involved an incisive Jack Colback pass to release Brennan Johnson down the left, where he put a superb cross in which Yates tapped home, timing his run into the box perfectly. A slow start to the second half saw little action but Forest stepped it up again and added a third on 75 minutes. Djed Spence carried the ball down the right flank, seeing off the attention of several Barnsley defenders, he rolled the ball inside where Johnson stroked it first time into the far bottom corner to cap off a comfortable victory. The Reds saw an effort by Steve Cook saved and a Xande Silva strike hit the post as they went on to secure a win which moves them closer to the Championship playoff places. Steven is joined by Tom Newton to reflect on Forest's win, including the influence Brennan Johnson is having on the side, how Forest got the job done on the night and Steve Cooper's post-match comments, where he made reference to 'that' Charlton game and was keen to avoid a repeat, following the high of the Derby victory on Saturday. Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

In reality, the best team won, although it was a match that seemed to hang on a series of incidents: Murillo's own goal, Chris Wood's miss, Maddison's punch and Spurs' half-time subs. After a slow start, Forest actually played quite well for much of the first half, but the natural order was restored in the second period. Rich Ferraro and George Edwards report on the game, with contributions from Tom Newton and JP from The Cheese Room Podcast. We'll be back on Friday with our weekly news roundup, featuring reflections on Everton's additional two-point deduction and remembering Joe Kinnear - in the meantime, thanks for listening. Nottingham Forest 3-1 Fulham: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

45 minutes of heaven, followed by 45 minutes of hell - however, Forest scored three goals in the first period and withstood the Fulham offensive in the second half, to earn a welcome three points and make up for the points deducted due to the PSR breach. The first half was probably the best we have seen from the Reds, with good goals from Hudson-Odoi, Wood and Gibbs-White, who recreated the Forza Garibaldi banner with his fingers-in-ears celebration. Steven Toplis and George Edwards review the action, and we'll be back on Friday with our latest news roundup. Nottingham Forest 1-1 Crystal Palace: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

Nottingham Forest 1-1 Crystal Palace: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

A draw wasn't the result that we wanted, but was enough to pull the Reds out of the relegation zone on goal difference. It could have been so much worse as a tepid first half performance drew the ire of the fans, but the introduction of Gio Reyna on 60 minutes brought instant dividends, as the young American fed Morgan Gibbs-White, who in turn played it into the box where Chris Wood's clever header drew Forest level. On the day that Forest fans got to say goodbye to Larry Lloyd, Rich Ferraro is joined by Baz to talk about tactics, substitutions and the magic of having a proper striker with proper wingers either side. We also discuss South Americans playing on the edge, the need for belief from the players and fans, and whether it is an advantage to revert to a Championship football mentality. Nottingham Forest receive 4 point PSR deduction: an 1865 Podcast Special

Nottingham Forest receive 4 point PSR deduction: an 1865 Podcast Special

At the end of a tempestuous week for Nottingham Forest Football Club, we take some time to reflect upon the four point deduction imposed by an independent commission and what impact it could have on the Reds' season, and indeed for the wider world of football (especially as Leicester are in trouble and Everton await their next punishment). Should Forest appeal? Has Nick De Marco KC done his job well? Does it matter whether the rules are fair, or does it just matter that Forest broke them? And on the pitch, after failing to beat Luton, do the Reds have enough to beat their rivals to stay in the Premier League, despite their vastly different expenditure? Presented by Rich Ferraro with Baz, George Edwards and Steven Toplis, with assistance from the 1865 Podcat and Producer Romeo. Our next podcast will be the Friday 5 news bulletin at the end of the week, and we will have reports after the crucial home games against Palace and Fulham - thanks for joining us. Luton Town 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

Luton Town 1-1 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

It was so near and yet so far for the Reds, as despite having the best chances, they only scored one goal, before the inevitable sucker punch when Luke Berry scored from (you guessed it) a set piece for Luton. Some fans were angry at the inability to take chances and also the substitutions made by Nuno, which left Forest with five at the back and no striker. Steven Toplis is joined by Tom Newton to discuss the game, the fallout and what this means for Forest in a week when the club are awaiting their PSR punishment. We will be back on Friday with the latest updates, and will be recording a special podcast during the international break with thoughts on where the Reds go from here.
