Aston Villa 2-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

Aston Villa 2-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Premier League Match Report

A change in formation and personnel, but the same old result. Following a reasonable showing in the first half, a moment of madness from Jonjo Shelvey gifted a goal to Bertrand Traore. The Reds (yellows) were up against it from that moment on; substitutions were unsuccessful, and the misery was compounded when Forest went down to ten men after using all their subs. Ollie Watkins sealed the result in stoppage time. Steven and Tom discuss the match after getting home from Villa Park, and having a night to sleep on it. Naturally, they discuss the pressure on the manager, and the performance of some of the team, and the effects of injuries as we lose Kouyate and Niakhate again. We also get a view from the opposition, as we are joined by Neil from For The Love Of Paul McGrath. 1865 Magic Moments Part 3: Gino Padula (yes, really)

1865 Magic Moments Part 3: Gino Padula (yes, really)

1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. We begin our pre-season countdown by looking back at some of our favourite memories of following Forest through the years. These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. Today, Tom Newton thinks back to unhappy days under Gary Megson; a woeful Forest team had been relegated, and Megson's attempts to rebuild were nothing short of disastrous - but maligned full-back managed to provide a moment of joy for the away fans at Oakwell. 1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. We begin our pre-season countdown by looking back at some of our favourite memories of following Forest through the years. These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. In this episode, we look back at a historic moment on a hungover New Year's Day in 1992. A match where more or less nothing happened, and Forest fans were leaving the ground, but then Sir Desmond Sinclair Walker scored his one and only goal in professional football. Like what you hear? These aren't necessarily great goals or great matches - just something that has stuck in our minds. To kick off, Baz remembers a memorable derby day that started with a belter by Radi Majewski and ended with a fight over a corner flag - but it was something that Billy Davies did that sticks in his mind. The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. In Part 1 of our season review, we all agree that we wish that this season could be deleted from history. Hangover doesn't even begin to describe it. Rich Ferraro presents views from a number of guests, including Nottingham football journalist George Harbey, Second Tier podcaster Justin Peach, and a guest opinion from Stoke fan Jack Oulton, comparing the situations of two sleeping giants. Plus we get perspectives from a number of Forest supporters, including YouTuber Ben Dore, Pat from The Famous Club, and Reds fans Bethany and Kate. Part 2 of the podcast is coming up soon, in which we will discuss players, the manager, and the club's transfer policy (or lack of it). Like what you hear? Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Nottingham Forest: The 1865 Match Report

The 1865 Forest Ramble is part of the Fan Hub Network - where fans come first. Saturday saw Forest travel to Hillsborough to take on relegation-threatened Sheffield Wednesday. With plenty at stake for the hosts, it was Forest who came closets to scoring, as Lewis Grabban saw his penalty saved by Kieren Westwood in first half injury time. Wednesday created chances in the second and forced a couple of saves from Brice Samba, but in truth neither team looked like carving out big goalscoring opportunities as the match finished goalless. The point takes Wednesday's survival battle into a final day showdown against Derby County, while Forest have their last game of the season at home to Preston to look forward to.  We speak to Jamie from Sheffield Wednesday podcast Wednesday Til I Die about the match, the performances of the two sides and how Wednesday will get on their crunch clash next weekend.
