Spoiler Discussion: She-Hulk Episode 9 “Whose Show Is This?”

On the October 14, 2022 episode of /Film Daily, /Film editorial director Peter Sciretta is joined by /Film editor Brad Oman to have a spoiler-filled discussion about She-Hulk Episode 9 “Whose Show Is This?” Opening Banter: In The Spoiler Room: She-Hulk Episode 9 “Whose Show Is This?” FeedbackNathan from Canada writes in: “The moment Matt Murdoch says, “I’m Daredevil” you can actually hear the Netflix daredevil theme playing in the background. Could that little Daredevil theme subtly imply that these 2 universes are one? Also You said that the only way to get Hulk blood from She-Hulk is in her She-Hulk form. Not to play the “umm… actually” card, but didn’t Jennifer Walters get her She-Hulk powers from Bruce’s blood? Even while in regular human form? I think having an extra strong vibranium syringe, just makes it easier to get her blood regardless her form, since it’s probably more difficult to sneak attack a Hulk with a normal syringe. We saw how that end in that “street fight”. Brief reactions Breakdown Speculation Matthew writes in “The MCU version of Skaar is obviously very different from the Marvel Comics version, in which a very angry Skaar travels to Earth in an attempt to kill the Hulk. We only see Skaar in She-Hulk for a few seconds but it seems clear that he is very different from the comics. He isn't full of rage but instead comes across as very shy. I think this lines up with my theory of Skaar joining the Young Avengers and replacing the character Hulkling. Now the big question is when will the Young Avengers appear? I have no idea if they plan to make a tv show or movie with the Young Avengers but I think it's going to happen before the end of the Multiverse Saga. As I think now all the Young Avengers characters have been introduced and one of the more prominent story arcs with the Young Avengers is with Kang the Conqueror. Now one of the big differences between Hulking and Skaar as characters is that Hulkling is gay and eventually gets married to Wiccan, one of Wanda's sons who is also a Young Avenger. Will Marvel Studios make Skaar gay or is using his character instead of Hulkling a way of Disney side stepping that issue so that the Young Avengers tv series or movie can be carried large markets like China? I do think using Skaar streamlines the convoluted storyline that is Hulkling's origin and that's a good thing but I've come to realize there might be business reasons why Marvel Studios is doing this which would be unfortunate for LGBTQ+ representation in the MCU.
