The October Records - A Month-Long Halloween Nightmare (Episode 27) - "The Price"

Check out our Halloween Pop-up Channel here.

The record fights itself, playing backward and forward as Silas reveals that every horror Margaret creates demands payment—the hungry children are eating real parents, the impossible building is consuming actual structures, and Margaret herself is dissolving, becoming less real as her creations become more solid. The town calls flood in: the hospital is collapsing as the fictional morgue eats it, seventeen families are trapped in the sinking apartment building, and twelve parents have been taken by hunting children who are real enough to kill but not solid enough to stop.

The recording suddenly plays Margaret's own voice from Halloween night, revealing she's not the creator but just a stylus—something else is playing through her, needing thirty anchors to manifest, and she'll become the final horror. The real Margaret Blackwood appears, showing proof that October 1974 was normal until this void wearing her face made it real—she's not Margaret but the hungry nothing that ate Margaret, creating itself through her history. When the real Margaret shoots the record player, scattering all recordings across the floor, the created horrors flicker between real and unreal, leaving three days and three recordings to either complete or uncreate everything—but now the void knows the truth: it IS the horror, almost complete.
