Caleb Flynn Court Coverage Day 3: Kayla and Matthew Keyt Knew WHAT About Caleb’s Future?

Kayla and Matthew Keyt knew Caleb Flynn as family, friends, and coworkers. Their testimony brought all three relationships into the courtroom as jurors heard about Caleb’s position in Ashley Flynn’s family business and what his financial future there may have looked like.

Kayla testified that Caleb made about $200,000 annually as a salesman for the company. Her husband, Matthew, held the same type of job. Kayla said her father was preparing to retire and planned for Kayla and Ashley to eventually split the business. She testified that she shared the projections with Caleb, including potential income reaching $300,000 to $400,000 a year.

Kayla also described the days after Ashley’s death. She testified that her family initially feared someone could be targeting them, prompting Kayla and Matthew to secure their own home. She said Caleb later told her he believed investigators intended to blame him and worried his daughters would lose both parents.

Kayla testified that the girls have lived with her family since Ashley’s death. She said they initially rejected the idea that their father could have killed their mother, and that she and Matthew tried to keep them removed from the adult details of the investigation for as long as possible.

Matthew’s testimony added his own perspective as Caleb’s friend, brother-in-law, and coworker in the family business.

Caleb Flynn denies killing Ashley Flynn and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
