Case 164: The Edinburgh Vaults Scotland - Life Underground

Edinburgh is home to ancient underground vaults that have been part of this city’s history for more than 200 years.

These vaults carry symbolic, cultural, and historical value for not only Edinburgh, but also Scotland.

Built in the late 18th century, the Vaults were originally designed to house taverns, workshops, and storage spaces for the city's tradesmen. However, as the conditions deteriorated, the underground passages became a breeding ground for poverty, crime, and illicit activity.

The Vaults were abandoned and forgotten by most, but they never truly remained silent. Reports of ghostly apparitions, strange noises, and unnerving presences have been shared by visitors and paranormal investigators for decades
