#49 The Allagash Alien Abduction: 4 Witnesses, Missing Time, and a Terrifying Night on Eagle Lake | Ft. Weirder After Dark

In August of 1976, four art students paddled a canoe onto Eagle Lake in the remote Allagash Wilderness of Maine. What started as a quiet night of fishing turned into one of the most famous UFO encounters and alleged alien abductions in history.

According to their testimony, the men saw a massive glowing object hovering silently above the treeline. When they flashed an SOS signal toward it, the object responded immediately, racing toward their canoe before projecting a beam of light over the water.

Then everything went black.

The next thing they remember is standing on the shoreline watching the object leave. Their campfire, which should have burned for hours, had burned down to coals. Nearly three hours were missing from their memory.

More than a decade later, hypnotic regression sessions revealed chilling memories of being taken aboard a craft, examined by strange beings, and returned to Eagle Lake with no recollection of what happened.

The Allagash Abductions became one of the most documented multi witness UFO cases ever investigated, complete with polygraph tests, independent witness drawings, and a 700 page case investigation.

But decades later, one of the witnesses publicly challenged the story, claiming parts of the abduction narrative were fabricated. So what really happened on that lake in northern Maine?

In this special joint episode of Paranormal Directive 13, we're joined by Sean, Cathy, and Chris from Weirder After Dark to break down the entire case:

• The terrifying encounter on Eagle Lake

• The mystery of the missing time

• The hypnosis sessions and recovered memories

• The evidence that made researchers take the case seriously

• The skeptical explanations

• The shocking 2016 witness recantation

Was this a genuine alien abduction?

A misunderstood UFO encounter?

Or something stranger still?

Turn the lights down and step into the wilderness with us.

Because whatever happened on Eagle Lake…

something answered that SOS signal.
