Abused, Addicted, and Broken, But God NEVER Let Go — Ben Foskey’s Story of Healing

Abused, Addicted, and Broken, But God NEVER Let Go — Ben Foskey’s Story of Healing

In this episode, Ben Foskey shares his powerful journey of surviving abuse, addiction, and despair, and discovering the relentless love of God that carried him toward healing.

What began with a childhood marked by divorce and instability spiraled into years of anger, loneliness, and searching for belonging. Drawn into an unhealthy relationship with a mentor who became his abuser, Ben carried silent trauma into his teenage years and early adulthood. To escape the pain, he turned to substances, distractions, and self-destructive habits, trying anything to fill the emptiness inside.

Yet again and again, in moments of deepest darkness, God intervened. On the beaches with missionaries, in Marine Corps boot camp worship, and even at the brink of suicide, Ben felt God’s undeniable hand pulling him back to life. His story is not a neat, linear healing. It is full of setbacks, relapses, and wrestling, but it reveals the long, patient work of a Savior who never stops reaching.

This story is not just about trauma. It is about choosing to stop running, to face the demons within, and to accept that healing comes only through God’s light. It is about brotherhood, vulnerability, the gift of safe people who listen, and the daily decision to keep walking toward hope. Above all, it is about a God who meets us in the darkest places, not with condemnation, but with love strong enough to change everything.

If you have ever felt broken beyond repair, wondered if healing is even possible, or questioned whether God truly sees you, this one is for you.
