Ep. 932: How to Be a Wildpreneur - Tamara Jacobi

Ep. 932: How to Be a Wildpreneur - Tamara Jacobi

Born in Vermont and raised in Quebec, Tamara’s wild inspiration was sparked by family expeditions that included bikepacking the USA’s Continental Divide, kayaking the Sea of Cortez and mountaineering Mexico’s volcanoes. This unusual upbringing prompted Tamara to look beyond the status quo, write a business plan while at Middlebury College (VT) and head to the Mexican Pacific with her parents. In 2007, they created the Tailwind Jungle Lodge, an adventure lodge and retreat center. Today, Tamara and her family are still in the jungle; surfing, hiking and exploring alongside her parents, husband and 2 adventurous little kiddos.

Life and business in the jungle has been a wild ride and Tamara shares her experience in Wildpreneurs (HarperCollins Leadership 2020)--a guidebook for turning passion into business. The book tells Tamara's story, alongside guidance and inspiration from dozens of other free-spirited Wildpreneurs who are blazing their own business trails. Tamara's adventures have continued as her book fell into the hands of the team at Thermal, who invited her to join them to create epic surf trips with legendary local guides around the world.
