Instead, Elisha sent simple instructions: Go wash in Jordan seven times. Naaman rejected it. He wanted a cleaner river, a wider river, a more impressive river—anything except the one God chose.The preacher uses this moment to confront modern religion:

People want smooth things, easy paths, emotional excitement, or wide roads. But God’s instruction has not changed. The command is still repent.Repentance is not merely feeling sorry; it is seeing the disgrace of sin, feeling its weight, and turning from it. The preacher warns that many today prefer entertainment, emotional hype, or feel‑good religion—rivers like Abana and Pharpar—beautiful, exciting, but ultimately empty.Naaman nearly died in pride, refusing the simple remedy. But his servants loved him enough to speak truth: If the prophet asked a great thing, you’d do it. Why not obey the simple thing?

Naaman finally obeyed, dipped seven times, and came up clean.The message ends with urgency: many would rather die in their sin than repent, but God still calls through His servants, urging people to choose the narrow, muddy Jordan—the path that actually heals.
